DSS Arrests Kidnapper, Gunrunner, Armed Courier To Bandits

…says Relevant Security Agencies Carrying Out Investigations

Department Of State Service, DSS, has arrested a Kidnapper, Gunrunner and armed courier to Bandits.

This was revealed today in a press statement signed by the Public Relations officer of the Department, Mr Peter Afunanya and published via the Department’s Official Twitter Account, @officialDSSNG.

The press statement which reviewed the DSS operations in recent time has that, the operations were in different states of the country.

“One of the operation was the apprehension of a 20 year old suspected kidnapper, Haruna Adamu at Fotta Village in Gombe Local Government Area, Adamawa State,Yesterday.

“One AK-47 rifle, one magazine and four rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition were recovered from the suspect.

“One Aminu Ibrahim, a suspected gunrunner was arrested along Kubwa Expressway, Abuja by the Service operatives while on his way from Nasarawa State to deliver 432 rounds of 7.62 x39mm caliber ammunition concealed in a four litre gallon of palm oil to a bandit in Niger State with the sum of N21,400 recovered from him.

“Babangida Ibrahim, an arms courier to bandits in Zamfara State was apprehended along Bukuru in Jos South LGA, Plateau State and the sum of 468 rounds of 7.62 x 39mm ammunition and the sum of #21, 090 was recovered from him.”

The statement added that, with reference to this, all the suspects have been taken into custody and will be prosecuted accordingly as Service and relevant security agencies are carrying out investigations into related matters in parts of the country.
