Dr. Abayoni Olorunshola Set to Deliver 26 Edition of the Late Prof. E.K. Obiakor Inaugural Lecture Series

All is now set for the 26 edition of the Late Prof. E.K. Obiakor Inaugural Lecture series of The Federal Polytechnic. Ado-Ekiti.

According to a statement by the spokesperson for the Polytechnic, Adeyemi-Adejolu
the lecture will be delivered on Thursday, 12 January, 2023 by a Chief Lecturer in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and current Dean. Continuing Education Centre of the Institution, Dr. Abayoni AG Olorunshola,

The inaugural speaker, who will speak on the topic: Achieving Sustainable Development: The Role of Mechanical Engineers” had served respectively as Head of Department and Acting Dean of Students Affairs among other positions before becoming the Dean, Continuing Education Centre

It would be recalled that the Prof. F.K. Obiakor Lecture Series was initiated in June, 2001 as the Polytechnic’s version of Universities’ Inaugural Lecture Series, but named after the founding Rector, the Late Professor Edward Kanu Obiakor, who administered the Polytechnic in its formative years between January, 1977 and December, 1985

The Lecture Series, which offers opportunity for accomplished Chief Lecturers of the Polytechnic to elucidate and profess on their contributions to knowledge in their respective fields, had before now been delivered by twenty five Chief Lecturers of the Polytechnic in sixteen different fields of Learning and Technology

Since 12 June, 2001 when Mr. O.O. Makanju the now retired Chief Lecturer in Food Technology, blazed the trail of the Lecture Series, the 26 edition to be delivered by Dr. A.A.G. Olorannisola is the third in the field of Mechanical Engineering

All members of the Polytechnic Community and the general public are duly welcome to the presentation and they are expected to, please be punctually seated by 2.30 pm on Thursday, 12 January, 2023
