The Director-General, Bureau of Community Communications, Mrs. Mary Oso-Omotosho has
promised the readiness of government to continue to create conducive environment and ample opportunities for young women to realize their full potential.
However the DG urged women to take advantage of government programmes to ensure personal development.
These were some of her submissions during a presentation titled ‘Charting the Future for Young Women in Leadership’ at the 2024 Leadership and Impact Summit, hosted by the Nigerian Youth Congress (NYC), Ekiti State chapter.
Mrs. Omotosho underscored the importance of young women discovering their purpose and remaining vigilant to avoid exploitation or manipulation.
She highlighted women’s pivotal role in societal prosperity and development, emphasizing their exceptional managerial and organizational skills.
She said:” Ekiti, though small in size, boasts immense riches and blessings, offering ample opportunities for young women to realize their full potential, most especially under the leadership of Governor Biodun Oyebanji.
“Encouraging young women not to be constrained by their environment, Mrs. Omotosho urged them to focus on self-development, understanding their core values, and avoiding complacency, as complacency stifles progress.
She commended Governor Oyebanji for providing numerous platforms for women to excel in the state, evident in the significant number of appointments given to women in the BAO-led government. She emphasized the governor’s unwavering commitment to women’s sustainability and welfare in the state.
The event also saw the presence of Reverend Tunde Afe, a strategic self-leadership development expert, and Amb. Maxwell Olusegun, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Youth Matters, among other esteemed guests.
Highlight of the event was the presentation of award of excellence to the DG for her immense contributions to youth development in the State.
