Drama ensued on Monday at the party secretariat of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, Ekiti State as party supporters clashed.
The situation led to the suspension of the scheduled congress which has now been postponed tentatively to Tuesday.
The supporters threw caution to the wind, as they rain insults on each other following a disagreement in the list of executives.
Roundoffnews gathered that trouble started after some members of the party collated names of new executives without carrying some leaders of the party along including the two lawmakers at the Ekiti State House of Assembly.
All efforts by the National representative to resolve the matter went to the deaf ear of the supporters who almost engaged in physical combat.
When contacted, the former secretary of the party who is aspiring to become Chairman, Engineer Bankole told newsmen that he would be consulting with some leaders of the party for the next action.
However, the lawmaker representing, Ekiti East Constituency 1 at the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Oladele Ogunsakin appealed to members to remain calm and embrace the rules of the game.
