CHOLERA: Ekiti NAWOJ Chairperson Urges Women to Maintain Hygienic Lifestyle

The Chairperson of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Ekiti State, Mrs Adewumi Ademiju, has urged women in the state to maintain a hygienic lifestyle to prevent the spread of cholera.

In a statement signed by the secretary of the association, Mrs Funmi Falae, Ademiju emphasized the importance of personal hygiene and proper sanitation in preventing the spread of Cholera. She encouraged women to take the lead in promoting good hygiene practices in their families and communities.

Ademiju also called on the government of Ekiti State and relevant stakeholders to ensure that cholera does not break out in the state. Ademiju also urged Ekiti women and the general public to take proactive steps to prevent cholera from gaining access to the state,

“We must work together to prevent cholera from entering our state, I, therefore, urge the government and relevant stakeholders to provide adequate sensitization, awareness and other preventive measures to the nook and cranny of the state to aid the general public in taking hygienic lifestyle more seriously”. Ademiju said.

Ademiju’s call comes as the epidemic is being detected In more states of the Federation. She emphasized that prevention is key and that by maintaining a hygienic lifestyle and taking proactive steps, Ekiti State can avoid a cholera outbreak.

By urging women to maintain a hygienic lifestyle and calling for cholera prevention, NAWOJ aims to promote a healthy and safe environment for all in Ekiti State.
