C-19RM/RSSH Grant: Advocacy Group Gets Commitment of Oba Ajakaiye to Improve Health Care System in Iyin-Ekiti

The Oluyin of Iyin-Ekiti, Oba Ademola Ajakaiye, has promised to work with the State Advocacy Group working on the Global Fund C-19RM/RSSH Grant towards improving primary health care system in his community.

Oba Ajakaiye noted that all necessary steps would be taken to convince residents of the area to address the issue of dilapidated buildings at Adeomi Basic Health Centre in the area.

The Oluyin made the pledge, on Tuesday, at his Palace in Iyin-Ekiti, when he received members of the State Advocacy Team in Ekiti State.

His words: “It’s a community issue. Good that you are here. I have noted your concern desire. Let us have it in black and white to know how to assist. We are known for helping ourselves. We will see what we can do.

“I’m sure the sons and daughters within my age bracket will assist. The name is still significant. We can itemize it and reach out and use it as a model to others.”

Earlier, Team Leader of the State Advocacy Team, Sir Olu Ogunrotimi, decried the dilapidated structures at Adeomi Basic Health Centre adding that the team have been trying to mobilise people of the area to assist the health centre.

“The purpose is to look at the community level to improve the quality of the health services. We are now having issues with the infrastructures there. We have been trying to mobilise the people of the community to assist the health centre. If there is anything you can help us to mobilise them to uplift the particular health centre.”
