Bishop Kukah Moves FG to Suspend Sentiments for Development

By Akubulu Ngozi

The Current Roman Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, Bishop Matthew Kukah, has moved the Federal Government, FG, to avoid infusing sentiments in the process of carrying out political duties.

The Bishop made this known while delivering his speech at the commemoration ceremony of Afe Babalola in his 60th year at the bar, held in Ado-Ekiti today.

The Bishop, who was invited as the Keynote Speaker for the event, mentioned that, upholding the provisions of democracy requires a selfless service which should not be sentimentally driven to foster development.

According to him, most leaders have limited development to their home town which according to him does not project democracy.

He said, “I must say that Daura in Kastina has enjoyed development over time, owing to the fact that it is the home town of the former president, (Muhammadu Buhari). It is disheartening to know that even Kastina as a whole is not even close to development despite Daura being part of its domain. This does not speak well of our democracy.”
