Bimbo Daramola Commends Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele for Facilitating University to Iyin Ekiti

…says development was due to improved relationship between the Governor and National Assembly members

A former lawmaker who represented Oye/Ikole Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Hon. Bimbo Daramola has commended the Senate Leader, Opeyemi Bamidele for facilitating the establishment of the Federal University of Technology and Environmental Sciences to his country home, Iyin Ekiti.

The Senate had passed the bill for the establishment of two Universities following a bill sponsored by Senate Leader, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele in 2023 and 2024—before securing concurrence from the House of Representatives and eventual presidential approval.

In a statement in Ado Ekiti, Daramola affirmed that the new University would attract significant development to Iyin Ekiti and create job opportunities for people of the state.

While commending the sacrifices of the Senate leader, Daramola posited that the success was due to the mutual relationship between the Governor and the National Assembly, adding that the University would be a tip of an iceberg.

He noted that Governor Oyebanji was able to build a strong tie with National Assembly members unlike what it used to be in the past where some Governors treat the National Assembly members with disdain.

According to Daramola, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele has once again demonstrated his commitment to the development of Ekiti State saying the efforts in facilitating the establishment of the university is commendable.

The congress man congratulated the Governor of Ekiti State, Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, the Oluyin in council, saying it is a thing of joy that great things are happening during their time.

He also rejoiced with all Iyin sons and daughters for the good news.
