The management of Bayero University, Kano has denied reports claiming that there was a security breach at the institution.

Lamara Garba, the university’s Deputy Registrar for Public Affairs, made this known in a statement on Tuesday.

“A false alarm regarding a campus security breach has brought the attention of Bayero University, Kano management.”

“We want to be clear that there has never been a kidnapping incident on any of the university’s campuses. To be clear, the institution has been taking all the required precautions to guarantee the safety of its employees and students for a very long time.
Therefore, the statement made a plea to the public to discount the alleged alarm about any danger to campus security.

“We are especially concerned that some callous people will spread false information with the knowledge that it will incite fear not only on campus but also in the surrounding Kano area and beyond.”
