As obtained from the official Twitter handle of @inecnigeria, Ribadu commended the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, for the 2023 general election saying that it is “one of the most peaceful and successful elections in the country.”

Also speaking at the meeting is the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, who called on security agencies to take action against executors of violence and other undemocratic activities ahead of the Bayelsa, Kogi and Imo governorship elections, scheduled for 11th November 2023.

Yakubu posits that the cooperation between the Commission and members of ICESS enabled security agencies to overcome challenges before the 2023 polls, including series of targeted attacks on its offices nationwide.
