BAO’S ROADWAY TO EKITI TRANSFORMATION

The new governor of Ekiti State has stated his determination to focus on his roadmap to the transformation of Ekiti State.
First among the roadmap anchored on six pillars, carefully designed to position Ekiti for peace and prosperity despite the challenges of this season, is Youth development and job creation which entails employment creation and income generating opportunities for the people.

He is going to focus on human capital development by allowing access to free and quality basic education up to SSS3 with curricula that prepare them adequately for further learning on the job market. He is determined to replicate this in all the state’s social investment programmes.

In the new dispensation, the focus will be on the development of agriculture sector further by attracting more investment in agri-business to deepen the processing capacity of both staple and cash crops to help Nigeria grows its non-oil exports.

Under Infrastructure and industrialization, BAO plans to accelerate the development of key infrastructure that is critical to the state’s economic development, collaborate with stakeholders to boost power and transportation.

On Arts, Culture and Tourism, the governor said his administration will focus on them because the state is blessed with unique attractions and rich cultural heritage and locations that are steeped in history.

The governor pointed out that no sustainable development can be achieved without good governance and that there will be collaboration with the right actors to implement state development plans and the SDG’s initiatives while accountability shall be the hallmark of the government.
“The goal of this administration is to safe guard people’s lives and livelihood, grow the economy, equip Ekiti people with valuable skills and create a conducive environment for investors to thrive in the state” he said.
