Bamisile Mourns Demise of Elemure, Says Monarch’s Sudden Passing Painful, Tragic

A ranking member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Femi Bamisile, has described the sudden demise of the Elemure of Emure Ekiti, Oba Emmanuel Adebowale Adebayo as tragic and painful, saying the passage of the monarch had created a void in Emure Ekiti kingship that will be difficult to fill.

Tracing the trajectory of his reign, the Federal Parliamentarian stated that the monarch would be fondly remembered for helping in fostering peace and unity in Ekiti State using the instrumentality of culture and tradition during his highly momentous reign.

Bamisile, who represents Ekiti East/Emure/Gbonyin Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, posited that history would continue to favour Oba Adebayo as a traditional ruler who was incurably development-driven and unflaggingly committed to the welfare of his people.

The demise of the first class monarch was officially pronounced by the Elemure-in-Council on Wednesday.

The monarch, who retired as a Commissioner of Police in the Nigeria Police Force, was enthroned in 2008 and reigned in the community for 16 years.

In his condolence message to the community, on Thursday, the Federal Legislator, said Oba Adebayo was an epitome of peace, sincerity and honour, the traits he said obviously reflected in the way he superintended over a kingdom that was peaceful and firmly united.

He commiserated with Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, the people of Emure Ekiti and Elemure-in-Council on the death of this priceless and honourable monarch, who always placed priority on the welfare of his subjects far and above personal aggrandisement.

“The painful exit of Oba Emmanuel Adebowale Adebayo was a personal loss to me. The departed Elemure always acted as a father to all politicians. He wasn’t discriminatory nor pander to partisanship in all his dealings. This singular trait made him to earn honour and respect.

“It was devastating that Oba Adebayo had to leave us so soon. But history had consigned him to the positive side as a traditional ruler who was peaceful and development-driven.

“In fact, his reign in Emure Ekiti typified positivities and honour in all respects. He shall be sorely missed for his honesty and fanatical love for unity and humanity.

“Let me on behalf of my immediate family and political family render my heartfelt condolences to Ekiti State Government, especially the Ekiti State Council of Traditional Rulers and his subjects in Emure Ekiti on his painful departure.

“May the gentle soul of Oba Adebayo find rest in the bosom of God Almighty”, Bamisile stated.
