Ayodeji Lawal Returns to APC with Followers

says Oyebanji represents light

By Precious Oham

It was an atmosphere of joy and happiness as the candidate for the Action Democratic Congress, ADC, in Ado Constituency 2 in the last general elections, Hon. Lawal Ismail Ayodeji defected to the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Ayodeji, who defected with other members of the party, on Thursday, at APC Ward 9 secretariat, said he joined the party because of the giant strides of Governor Biodun Oyebanji.

According to him, the Oyebanji-led administration represents light that is passionate about the progress of the citizens and the common man.

He pledged to add value to the party as a grassroots mobilizer noting that more defectors will still join the APC.

His words: “I’m the ADC candidate in the last election for Ado-Ekiti Constituency 2 in the House of Assembly. I joined APC simply because what Governor Oyebanji has been doing. I see a man who has passion for Ekiti State and the common man. That is what prompt me to join the party today.

“Though, APC was my party but due to circumstances I left the party. I see the light in Oyebanji’s led administration. That’s the difference I could see because he has been doing something.

“I believe joining APC today will add value because they know me as a mobilizer even in Ado-Ekiti. I’m the leader in my ward and we are up to 50 from my ward and more people are still coming.”

Receiving the defectors, a leader of APC in Ekiti State, Hon. Tosin Aluko said the party will continue to form a formidable team in the state.

The APC leader said the defection of some politicians from the opposition party in Ekiti State showed that APC is making progress in winning the soul of the electorates.

She said: “We received defectors from other political parties. We are happy to have them. The more you receive people, the more you win the election and win the soul of the electorates.”
