Armed Forces Remembrance Day: Opeyemi Falegan Calls for Improved Welfare For Families of Fallen Heroes

An Ekiti-born philanthropist, Opeyemi David Falegan has called on government and well-meaning Nigerians to prioritise the welfare of families of fallen heroes in the country.

The founder of Opeyemi David Falegan Foundation made the appeal in a statement to commemorate this year’s Armed Forces Remembrance Day.

Falegan, who has supported widows and vulnerable people in the society through his foundation, noted that the families of the fallen heroes deserve maximum care and attention.

He went further to commend the Nigerian Armed Forces for their resilient and dedicated spirit in discharging their duties of ensuring that the country is rid of issues of insecurity and safe territory.

He said: “Our Nigerian flag does not fly because the wind moves it. It flies with the last breath of each soldier who died protecting it. No man is a man until he has been a soldier. Happy Armed Forces day.”
