The aspirant who is also the founder of Dele Phillips Foundation had met leaders in Ijero-Ekiti, Efon and Aramoko-Ekiti.

The international business mogul who was speaking with newsmen after the meeting held in Aramoko-Ekiti and attended by party leaders in the constituency assured that delegates would be prioritized as shareholders and stakeholders in the process of imparting positively on the lives of the people.

Mr. Dele Philips who has made his mark as a key player in hospitality industry as well as real estate development said gone are the days when party leaders are used during elections and later abandoned.

The aspirant made reference to various interventions he has put in place both at individual and community levels, emphasizing that processes have been put in place to change the orientation in terms of empowerment.

In his words, “I am in touch with friends across the globe who are interested in partnering us to uplift our youths in line with global best practices. Our youths are very brilliant and intelligent but we need to influence for them so that we can reduce the number of  graduates that have become Okada riders in the state”.

“There are many opportunities we can create through the National Assembly and lift our people out of poverty if we have round pegs in right holes”, Philips added.

Some party leaders at the meeting who include Chief Ebenezer Adebusuyi and Chief Obafemi Fatomilola urged the delegates to reflect on the impact of Mr. Dele Philips in the party both at local and state levels, appealing that they have the opportunity to change the narratives of the area in terms of overall socio-economic and political development.

They maintained that Mr. Dele Philips has always shown that he couldn’t abandon party leaders after winning the ticket as well as the general elections and therefore called for concerted efforts at ensuring that he clinches the ticket of the party.
