Alaba Lawson to be buried December 8

Iyalode of Yorubaland, Alaba Lawson, who died on October 28th, 2023 would be put to rest on December 8th, 2023 in Abeokuta, her hometown of Ogun State.

This was made known in a statement by her media adviser, Dimeji Kayode-Adedeji following a meeting held by the family on Sunday about the burial arrangements.

According to Adedeji, the family has approved the burial committe with the Central Planning Committee headed by Sanya Abiola, while other members include Dimeji Kayode-Adedeji (Head Media), Tayo Akintayo, Sesan Bankole, Akin Jiboku are members of the media team.

The statement reads, “Ayo Olusanya is to head Ceremonial /Entertainment, as well as Olalekan Jiboku as Head Security, while Tunji Akintayo is in charge Protocol/Logistics.

“On December 8, 2023, a burial church service will take place at St James African Church, Idi-Ape, Abeokuta, to be followed with interment which is meant strictly for the family of the deceased, who until her death was known to have recorded a number of feats”.
