Ado-Ekiti Branch of Efon Alaaye Development League Elects New Executive

…as Michael Kehinde Jegede Emerges Chairman

The Ado Ekiti branch of Efon Alaaye Development League, EDL, has elected new executive to pilot the affairs of the Community Association in Ado-Ekiti for the next three years.

This was contained in a statement by the Chairman, 2024 Electoral Committee for EDL Ado-Ekiti, Prince S. A. Adeyemi-Adejolu.

According to him, the seven-man executive were elected after a keenly contested election during the general meeting of the EDL branch in Ado Ekiti on Sunday, 1st December, 2024.

A retired School Principal, Chief Michael Kehinde Jegede emerged as the Chairman while Chief Ayodeji Samo, a keen Sports Analyst and former General Manager of Ekiti State Sports Council emerged as the Vice Chairman unopposed.

Other officers elected are, Elder ‘Wole Thompson, Secretary;
Mr. Adebanjo Adeniyi, Assistant Secretary; Elder Bukola Oladiran, Treasurer; Pastor Peter Kehinde Jegede as the Financial Secretary, while Mr Tayo Bolarinwa emerged as the Social Secretary/Public Relations Officer.

The newly elected Executive of the Ado-Ekiti branch of EDL will assume Office with effect from February, 2025 after a swearing-in ceremony to be supervised by Mr Olabode Fagbemiro, a retired University Administrator and President General of EDL, worldwide.

The conduct of the smooth electoral process was preceded by the adoption of a number of resolutions, among which is the adoption of the Bye Law to henceforth guide the operations of the EDL branch, as adapted from the chartered Millennial Constitution of the League.

The seven-member new EDL Team were thus elected into various positions, in accordance with the provisions of the newly adopted Bye-Law, for a term of 3-year tenure and renewable for another term of 3 years, if so decided after the first term.
