ABUAD MULTI SYSTEM HOSPITAL RECORDS FOURTEEN SUCCESSFUL KIDNEY TRANSPLANT

ABUAD Multi System Hospital, Ado Ekiti has recorded another breakthrough in the heath sector by successfully performing kidney transplant for fourteen patients.

Speaking on the achievement at the hospital, the Chief Medical Director Of ABUAD, Multi System Hospital, Dr. Makanjuola Ogundipe said that six was carried out last week while eight had been done earlier.

He explained that the patients were doing fine after the operation was performed on them, saying they would be discharged in the next few days.

Dr Ogundipe noted that the operation was done within seventy two hours while the donours have returned to thier homes in good condition. .

The CMD said that the hospital is well equiped to treat different kind of ailments due to availability of different special machines to carry out such.

Also, one of the doctors that performed the surgery, Dr. Olusegun Aremu said the recent transplant made it the fourteeth kidney transplant surgeries that took place in ABUAD hospital successfully, saying such is an evidence that there is hope for those experiencing kidney failure in the country.

He said the hospital had been doing that in the last one and half year, saying Nigeria is one of the countries that with highest number of kidney disease due to inability of citizens to pay proper attention to their health by not going for regular check up.

Dr Aremu therefore urged people to drink water regularly, reduce intake of salt and stop taken herbal medicine regularly among other precautions to prevent being victim of kidney related diseases.

In an interview, the patients who appreciated God for successful completion of the surgeries commended Afe Babalola Muilti System Hopital for the breakthrough.
