Abacha’s loot: Tinubu’s negligence to court order slams rule of law, SERAP Fires

By Akubulu Ngozi

The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project, SERAP has alleged that President Bola Tinubu’s pending response of the court’s directives to publish the spending details of the $5 billion recovered from Abacha loot does not propagate the rule of law.

The body made this claim recently through a statement published via its Official Twitter Account @SERAPNigeria.

According to the statement, President Tinubu’s Administration which promises to uphold the rule of law is already compromising, due to its negligence to provide information about the loot.

It states, “President Tinubu promised that “Nigeria will be governed according to the rule of law.” But his administration continues to ignore the court order directing it to publish spending details of the $5 billion recovered Abacha loot, 32 days after the judgment was delivered.”
