OLUWATOYIN OLUWADAMILOLA AJAYI STILL AT LARGE-POLICE

A young lady identified as OLUWATOYIN OLUWADAMILOLA AJAYI who was indicted in an homosexual case in Ibadan is still at large as confirmed by police.

Addressing newsmen, during the monthly briefing, Police Spokesman Sunday Afolabi confirmed that Oluwatoyin Oluwadamilola Ajayi
was caught on 27th of April, 2017 making love with another woman in an hotel in Ibadan Oyo state.

According to the statement attributed to the witness and made available to journalists, the ladies were caught making love in the car, they were apprehended at the scene and detained by the hotel management after being rescued from the mob that wanted to lynch them.

Providing update on the matter, Afolabi said Oluwatoyin Oluwadamilola Ajayi was declared wanted after the incident but the command has not been able to arrest her.

He said same sex is a criminal offence in Nigeria, hence the suspects are liable and needed to come out and prove their innocence.

He said efforts were still being made to locate Oluwatoyin Ajayi for questioning and further investigation.
The police also appealed to members of the public who may have useful information concerning her whereabouts to contact the command.

The community where Oluwatoyin is said to reside allegedly told the police that they had previously raised concerns about her conduct and had summoned her and her parents on several occasions.

According to the police account, the community had warned Oluwatoyin about what its members described as conduct contrary to their cultural and religious values.

Meanwhile, there has been renewed call for effective implementation of the same sex law, to serve as deterrent to others who have continued to engage in the sinful and evil act.

It is believed that offenders should not be allowed to escape justice because such development has continued to encourage the unacceptable act.
