They appealed to beneficiaries to shun self-medication and patronize government health facilities to undergo necessary check-ups that could lead to early detection and prevention of diseases that may cut short their lives.
They also urged the people to vote Governor Biodun Oyebanji for second term so as to enjoy more dividends of democracy
One of the organizers said, Temitope Ajewole said :“The mission objectives are to expand access to care, reduce out-of-pocket costs, promote health education, and support Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji’s agenda of quality health for all.
“It is about bringing healthcare to the doorstep of our people. No one should be denied care because of cost or distance.”
Also speaking, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Public Advocacy, Dr. Abdul Bakare Ayolo, who is the sponsor of the programme said the health mission had ensured early detection of some diseases among beneficiaries for necessary attention.
Similarly, the Technical Adviser to the Governor of Ekiti State on Power and Electrification, Engr. Philip Atere Ekundayo, said Governor Oyebanji alone cannot attend to all the needs of the people, hence the need for all stakeholders to complement his efforts.
The beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the organizers for the opportunity, which they described as “golden” considering the current economic hardship and high cost of drugs.
