Aribisogan Declares 2027 Bid for Ikole Constituency I Assembly Seat on ADC Platform

Former Ekiti State House of Assembly Speaker, Rt. Hon. Olugboyega Aribisogan, has declared his intention to contest for the Ikole Constituency I seat in the 2027 Ekiti State House of Assembly election on the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

In a statement issued to the people of Ikole Constituency I, Aribisogan said the decision followed wide consultations with party leaders, stakeholders, elders, and residents. He described the move as one born out of concern, responsibility, and commitment to improving representation in the constituency.

The former speaker criticised the current representation, saying the constituency had witnessed “representation without impact” over the past three years. He cited abandoned roads, inadequate school facilities, youth unemployment, and what he called a lack of effective advocacy in the Assembly as evidence of poor delivery of democratic dividends.

Aribisogan pointed to specific areas including Asin Ekiti, Ugbona Ekiti, Usin Ekiti, Isaba Ekiti, Ijesa-Isu Ekiti, Ikole Ekiti, Ikunri, and Oke Ijebu, saying residents continued to struggle due to what he termed inexperience and weak representation. He argued that leadership required experience, service, and visible results rather than silence and excuses.

Reflecting on his previous tenure, he said he sponsored bills and moved motions that benefited both the constituency and the state, and represented Ikole Constituency I in local and international fora. He pledged that if elected again, his focus would be on robust, visible, accessible, and accountable representation.

He outlined a three-pillar agenda centred on effective legislation and advocacy in education, healthcare, agriculture, industrialisation, and youth and women empowerment. He also promised to ensure projects reach every ward and to prioritise skills, jobs, and inclusion for young people and women.

Aribisogan urged residents to support his bid, saying the ADC offered a platform built on freedom of expression, fairness, internal democracy, and service. He called for an end to what he described as inexperience and non-performance, saying the time for action to restore dignity and effective representation to Ikole Constituency I had come.
