…says Governor Oyebanji has served Ekiti People with integrity, diligence
A sociopolitical organisation, known as Ekiti Leadership Group has condemned the Kayode Ojo Campaign Organisation for peddling what it calls lies and fake narratives to discredit Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji.
In a statement in Ado Ekiti the group said Ekiti people can not be deceived by Ojo and his cohorts.
“While we acknowledge the importance of conducting campaigns with decency and respect for opponents, reeling out falsehood and unverifiable junks to discredit a sitting Governor loved by his people is nothing short of a wink in the dark. No one sees it.
“Ekiti Leadership Group disagrees with the narrative of stagnation. Governor Oyebanji has initiated various developmental projects across Ekiti State, it’s obvious, even to the blind, that Governor Oyebanji is working tirelessly to implement developmental projects in line with the “RENEWED HOPE” agenda.
According to the group, the claim about squandering funds on allowances for former governors are baseless
“We challenge the accuracy of the claims about loan bonds without proper context. Governor Oyebanji’s administration is managing the state’s finances for both micro and macro socio-economic and infrastructural developments.
Ekiti Leadership Group asserts that Governor Oyebanji’s administration is working on developmental projects despite challenges. Comparisons with other states like Abia are not entirely fair without considering Ekiti’s specific context.
“We disagree with the characterization of workers’ welfare. Governor Oyebanji’s administration is working tirelessly to address workers’ needs within the state’s means and Ekiti workers celebrate his leadership and collectively endorse his continuity for the next four years.
Ekiti Leadership Group also denied claims of squandering funds on endorsement rallies, saying all endorsement programmes were carried out voluntarily by people who were convinced by the good work of the Governor.
The major headaches of those peeping behind the walls is that the Governor is unprecedentedly rolling on the wheels of good will and total acceptance.
“We reject the narrative of desperation. Governor Oyebanji is a popular leader working for Ekiti State’s development. If there is/are anyone desperate, they are the people trying hard to distract the flow of governance. The eagle is on full flight aided by the winds of good will and good conscience.
“Ekiti Leadership Group agrees that APC is a platform for all members. Governor Oyebanji respects democratic processes within the party, and everyone has been given a level play ground for personal expression and ambition.
We debunk and deny allegations of intolerance or attacks on supporters of other aspirants. Governor Oyebanji promotes a peaceful political environment.
“Ekiti Leadership Group strongly believes Governor Oyebanji is conducting himself appropriately as a democratically elected leader.
Ekiti Leadership Group notes that the Kayode Ojo’s press release, full of hate speeches, appears to be a campaign tactic ahead of the APC gubernatorial primary elections in Ekiti State, scheduled for October 26, 2025. It’s pathetic that the group is reeling out misinformation aimed at discrediting the present administration of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji. The release has no substance, no policy alternatives, no concrete argument or unbiased critique but plain pain mixed with discontent. Pitiable and Laughable.
