Speaking with Journalists, the Director General, Office of Community Communications, Mary Omotosho explained that the initiative is part of efforts by the government of Biodun Oyebanji to put smiles on the faces of residents during the yuletide season.

She noted that the initiative is geared towards reinforcing Governor Oyebanji’s commitment to grassroots inclusion and shared prosperity through the distribution of cash and food items.

She said: “It’s a way of appreciating them and to reach out to them that the governor didn’t forget them in this season of sharing and gifting.

“Apart of different cash gifts and patronage that has gone into the public from the governor, this is another way of appreciating the public.

“We are going to do this for three days. Today we have brought different groups and associations, tomorrow we are bringing another set of groups and non-indigenes. Next tomorrow, we are bringing landlords associations and Chiefs to represent all communities in Ekiti State.”

Some of the beneficiaries commended the State government for deeming it necessary to appreciate them for a job well done.
