Youth Group Appreciates Governor Oyebanji Over Road Construction, Seeks More Intervention

A youth group, Ajebandele Youth Movement, Ado-Ekiti has embarked on a solidarity walk to appreciate Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji for constructing the Ajebandele-Deeper Life, Omisanjana road.

The youth group, who trouped out in their numbers embarked on the solidarity walk in the community alongside various youth organizations in the state.

The Director General, Office of Community Communications, Mrs Mary Omotosho, who made a brief stopver hailed the group for showing appreciation to the governor.

She reassured them of the commitment of the governor in providing dividends of democracy adding that what they have requested for will be worked on.

Her words: “What we have witnessed here is a testament to Governor Oyebanji’s commitment to development and it is not a surprise to us that they are showing appreciation. This is how it has been for every community that we have our projects ongoing. Even communities where we don’t have projects ongoing, they show appreciation in advance for what the governor will do.

“We are assuring the community of continuous impact and it is not out of place that they are showing appreciation but at least it will encourage the governor to do more. We also thank them for showing appreciation.

“For Governor Oyebanji, he is doing what he is voted to do. He is not seeing this as a favour to people. He is doing what he has been voted as governor to do. We appreciate them for showing this love and the assurance the promised the governor.

“We expect that they will make more request. This is a highly populated environment. What they have requested for are not things too big for government to do. We will work on the request.

“Health centre is very important because there are pregnant women, children and aged people here. Currently the governor is running free medical services for children and elderly people. All other request will be worked on. Definitely there is an assurance of getting some of the request done for them.”

Speaking at the solidarity walk, Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth Development, Hon. Maxwell Olu-Ajayi said the intervention of the governor has developed the community noting that the youths are committed to the collective development of the state.

“The Ajebandele Youth Movement are appreciating the governor for the road he constructed for the community. When I visited them the last time, they said the walked down to the governor and asked for a road construction and the governor did it.

“It has really developed the community in terms of economic development and everything that are inclusive. As we all know that youths are creative and energetic. They are the set of people that want development.

“They asked for collective development which the governor has done. As oliver twist, they also want more and I know the governor of the youths will come and do more for them.”

On his part, Abaje Tadujeen, President of Ajebandele Youth Movement said the governor fulfilled his campaign promise of constructing the road while seeking more interventions such as the provision of basic health centre, among others.
