UTME Candidates Encounter Challenges at CBT Centres in Ekiti

Some candidates sitting for this year’s Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME conducted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB in Ekiti State expirienced little challenge during the exercise at few CBT Centres.

this is due to system error which took time to be rectified by examiners.

Some of the candidates for the exercise lamented over the malfunctioning of the machines used for accreditation and computer set used for the examination.

Our Correspondent who monitored the exercise reports that at the  Ekiti State University Ado Ekiti, EKSU the examination started very late.

According to reports, as at eleven O ‘clock in the morning the candidates were yet to commence the examination due to hitches experienced from the facilities.

In an interview, some of the candidates expressed dissatisfaction over the development and called on JAMB management to find solution to such as the examination continues.

Also, parents of some of the candidates at the EKSU Centre including Prince Kunle Adeniyi  and Mrs Rose Ogundele described the development as uncalled for in this modern age.

Meanwhile, at the Ekiti Anglican Diocesan High School, Ile Abiye,  and Phoenix CBT centres in Ado-Ekiti, the examination went smoothly as there was no case of computer system malfunctioning as confirmed by some of the candidates.

The examination started as scheduled in other centres visited in Ado and outside the state capital, as the first and second batches students have concluded.

Correspondent observed the presence of security operatives, particularly officers of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps at the centres visited.

Ekiti State has twelve CBT centres located in Ado , Oye, Ijero, Ikere, Igede and Ikole Ekiti.
