Udiroko: Bamisile Hails Akpabio, Others Over Pledge to Allocate Projects to Ekiti

A ranking member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Femi Bamisile, has commended the leadership of the Nigerian Senate for pledging to give Ekiti State favorable federal presence in the 2025 Appropriation Act in terms of projects’ allocation.

Specifically, Bamisile saluted the Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio, Senate Leader, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele and other members of the Senate over resolve to allocate projects that would upscale development and complement Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s giant strides in the forthcoming budgetary provisions.

Bamisile congratulated Governor Oyebanji on the feat that was novel in Ekiti’s history, applauding the governor for raising the bar of leadership under his reign, thereby making the state acceptable and rightly projected to the outside world.

During the 2024 edition of the Udiroko Cultural Fiesta, held on Wednesday, August 21, in Ado Ekiti, Senators Akpabio and Bamidele, promised to rally other colleagues to ensure that they apportion landmark projects to Ekiti out of their constituency projects in the next appropriation law.

At the occasion, Senators Akpabio, his Deputy, Jibrin Barau, Opeyemi Bamidele, and Olamilekan Adeola, donated a humongous sum of N110 million to Ado Ekiti development plan.

Commending the federal lawmakers for their patriotism, Bamisile said Senator Akpabio’s gesture confirmed that he perceived himself as a Pan-Nigerian leader, who doesn’t pander to ethnic bigotry when it comes to development.

Bamisile said Senate President’s patriotic zeal would go a long way in imbuing Nigerians with the sense of unity and oneness and further amplify the need for Nigerians to see themselves as one, regardless of ethnicity, race and creed.

“I am particularly elated with this show of patriotism and statesmanship by the Senate President, Obot Godswill Akpabio and other distinguished senators like Jibrin Barau , Opeyemi Bamidele, and Olamilekan Adeola.

“Despite that Senator Akpabio was not from Ekiti, but Akwa Ibom, he left the pack by donating a sum of N50m to Ado Ekiti development plan to help the community completes old projects and embark on new ones.

“Senator Akpabio and other Patriots had shown that Nigeria remains an indivisible entity. He had shown that our diverse ethnicity and plurality should enhance our cohesion, rather than divide us.

“With this, these Senators had etched their names in gold and history will continually remember them for good”.

Bamisile congratulated the Ewi of Ado Ekiti,Oba Rufus Adeyemo Adejugbe on the successful staging of the 2024 edition of the Cultural Festival, saying the celebration had helped in shoring up Ekiti’s rating in the world of tourism and creativity.
