Twitter Removes Verification Badge of Tinubu, Obi, Atiku, Others

By Akubulu Ngozi

Owner and Chief Executive Officer, CEO, of Twitter, Elon Musk has removed the verification badge of the People’s Democratic Party Presidential Candidate, Atiku Abubakar, Labour Party Presidential Candidate, Peter Obi, All Progressive Congress, APC, Presidential Candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other politicians from Twitter.

Musk removed the blue tick which authenticate the credibility of the page on Thursday, following a pledge he had earlier made to get rid of what he described as a “lords and peasants system.”

Reacting to this, Former Senator, Kaduna Central, Senator Shehu Sani through his Official Twitter Account @ShehuSani, said that, if Elon had not removed the verification badge of all the major political party representatives, he would have been accused of bigotry.

Sani said, “If he had removed two and left one, Elon could have either been accused of Bigotry or suspected of being settled and our Eid celebration could have been marred by cyber wars. Hundeyin will investigate and Serap will sue.”
