Tuberculosis, Leprosy & BU control programme hold awareness walk, Free Test in Ekiti

Ekiti State Tuberculosis, Leprosy & BU control programme in collaboration with World Health Organization, WHO will on Friday embark on a road walk in Ado Ekiti to create awareness on prevention and treatment of TB.

The walk will be attended by partners( DFB, ECEWS), and Community-Based Organisations [CBOs] working on RSSH-C19 in 5 LGAs in the state.

In a statement in Ado Ekiti, the programme officer, Mr. Adebayo Orojo said the train of the walk will take off at Okesa area by 8am and round off at Mugbagba junction, adding that there will be free TB & HIV testing.

The theme of this year’s programme is ” YES WE CAN END TB”.

Ekiti State Tuberculosis, Leprosy & BU control programme and other partners had on Tuesday the 22nd March held meeting with stakeholders and gatekeepers in communities selected for awareness and outreach programmes.

Also on Wednesday, the 23rd March, Visit of state team members to the correctional center and drivers union to create awareness for planned outreach program on identification and testing of presumptive cases for TB& HIV.

All partners and members of the public are hereby enjoined to attend the programme.
