Traditional Ruler Lauds Governor Oyebanji on “Ulerawa” Health Interventions

The Arinjale of Ise-Ekiti, Oba Adetunji David Ajayi has commended the Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji for his laudable Programmes especially health intervention of Basic Health Care Provision Fund and Ulerawa programmes across the state.

Oba Ajayi gave the commendation at his palace in Ise-Ekiti during a sensitisation and health outreach Programme organized by the Ekiti State Health Insurance Scheme to expand and increase citizen’s access to both Programmes in the state.

The traditional ruler who was represented by Chief Benjamin Ojo called on his subjects to avail themselves of the opportunity provided by the programmes to live a healthy living, with a prayer for the success of the Governor Biodun Oyebanji led Administration.

In his remarks, the Commissioner for Health and Human Services Dr Oyebanji Filani said that the twin Programmes of BHCPF and Ulerawa provided free healthcare services at 177 Public Health Centres across the state.

Dr Filani who was represented at the event by the Executive Secretary, Ekiti State Primary Health Care Development Agency, Dr Ayodele Seluwa noted that services rendered free at the facilities include maternal Health Care such as Antenatal care, delivery, postnatal care, family planning and Child care, nutrition and malaria treatments for all groups of people.

The Sensitisation activity also featured health outreach where residents of Ise/Orun Local Government Areas were registered for the laudable Programmes and attended to on their various health needs.

While giving his address, the General Manager, Ekiti State Health Insurance Scheme Dr Charles Doherty noted that government has committed huge amount of money to the two Programmes to ensure that Ekiti residents live in good health.

Dr Doherty stated that other services rendered free of charge at the facilities include collection of cards, consultation and laboratory tests.

Other speakers at the programme which included Chairman Ise/Orun Local Government Areas Hon. (Engr) Akinluyi Ayodele, Olowuro of Orun- Ekiti, HRM Oba Zaccheus Adewunmi and National Health Insurance Authority Representative, Mr Gafar applauded the governor for the programme

They described both programmes as timely health interventions that would guarantee better and quality healthcare service delivery for the entire population of the state.

They called on the residents to maximize the opportunity provided by the government gesture to attend to their various health challenges
