…commends contributions to engineering profession

The Nigerian Society of Engineers, NSE, has commended the contributions of a legal luminary, Aare Afe Babalola to the legal, engineering and other sectors of economy in the sixty years of his sojourn as a lawyer.

The Deputy President/ President-Elect of the Society, Engineer Margaret Oguntala gave the commendation during a programme held in Afe Babalola University, Ado Ekiti to celebrate the Diamond anniversary of the call to bar of the legal Icon.

According to her, Aare Afe Babalola has extended his philanthropic gesture to the engineering sector which earned him a fellow of NSE.

“Well I want to talk about his awesome contribution towards education, particularly in engineering education because that is the aspect that affects the Nigerian Society of Engineers.”, she said

Engineer Oguntala noted that the engineering faculty of ABUAD is a template of engineering education in Africa due to the investments of Aare Babalola to it.

“Particularly two years ago, the foundation laying of industrial hub was done. It has now developed into an arena where students are trained and that’s particularly important to the engineering profession.

“The Industrial hub in ABUAD is a testimony to the fact that Aare Afe Babalola takes very seriously, not just the education of students, but how they will be able to compete with their counterparts all over the world.

“So I will say Afe Babalola had contributed immensely to growing engineering education in Nigeria.”

Engineer Oguntala therefore promised that members of NSE in Nigeria would continue to support Aare Afe Babalola’s giant strides of shaping every sector of economy in the country.
In the same vein, the Ado Ekiti Branch Chairman of NSE, Engineer Dr Oluwasegun Aluko commended Aare Afe Babalola for his special interest in engineering education and training. He also thanked the President-Elect for the visit to Ekiti.
