Tarrif Increment: Ekiti Monarch Tasks Telecommunication Providers to Improve Services

The Alawe of Ilawe-Ekiti, Oba Adebanji Ajibade Alabi, AFUNTADE 1 has tasked telecommunication service providers to match their costs with good services following the recent 50 percent tarrif increment.

Reacting through his Media Adviser, High Chief Ajibade Olubunmi, Oba Alabi frowned at the poor services being rendered to his community by one of the telecommunication giants, MTN, for over a month now which prompted the Monarch to personally signed two letters on behalf of his community, Ilawe-Ekiti to the MTN to rectify the horrible situation.

According to him, it is quite surprising and most disappointing that the problem still persists up to date.

Oba Alabi, a former Chairman of the Ekiti State Council of Traditional Rulers, observed that many communities in Nigeria could be agonizing under the same poor services being rendered by MTN to his people asking: what is the justification for tarrif Increase for poor services?

He said: “No one would quarrel with any company who asks for more money when providing fantastic services to customers but it will be an extortion to increase tarrif for poor services.”

The Alawe therefore appealed to MTN to improve its services in his domain and further called on the National Communication Commission( NCC) to intervene in the poor services being rendered by the MTN to Ilawe-Ekiti, the third most populous town in Ekiti State.
