Take Ownership of Health Facilities…Group Tasks Ekiti Communities

A coalition of Community Based Organizations working on the Global Fund NACA ATM C-19/RRSH Grant in Ekiti State has called on communities to complement the efforts of governments at enhancing the standard of health facilities in their areas.

This according to the coalition will enable people at the grassroots have better access to qualitative health care services.

According to the group, taking ownership of the various health facilities by communities is key, saying government alone can not attend to every need at a time.

The group during its monthly meeting held at the office of the Environmental  Development and Family Health Organization  EDFHO urged individuals and corporate bodies to render necessary support that would sustain the operations of health facilities  such as, Provision of water, health care equipment, electricity and employment of guards to secure the facilities.

The group also appealed to local government chairmen and other stakeholders to always grant  audience to the Global Fund NACA ATM C-19/RRSH Grant team who will be coming to ask them some questions.

they also suggested better welfare for health workers deployed to rural areas.
