By Precious Oham

Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Ekiti State branch, has congratulated Governor Biodun Oyebanji on his victory at the Supreme Court.

NMA’s congratulatory message was contained in a statement issued by the Chairman, Dr Babatunde Rosiji, on Friday in Ado-Ekiti.

According Rosiji, the victory recorded by the governor at the apex court is a testimony that the majority of Ekiti people voted for him at the governorship poll.

He noted that this is the time to continue the giant strides in the infrastructural development in the state without any distraction whatsoever.

The NMA Chairman said that the association is looking forward to a very rewarding working relationship and partnership with the governor.

“We received with great joy the announcement of your victory at the Supreme Court. This victory has again validated the votes the majority of Ekiti people gave you at the gubernatorial polls. The people have spoken, the courts have again validated the voices and votes of the people.

“Now is the time to continue the good works you have started in the governance of Ekiti State without any distraction whatsoever.

“You have shown a great commitment to the welfare of workers and you have also demonstrated a genuine love for health workers by your actions within this short period you have resumed office.

“Your commitment to address the scourge of brain drain affecting doctors and other health professionals is very reassuring and we will trust the process and join you in repositioning the health sector in our dear State.

“All doctors in the State will surely contribute our own quota in ensuring our dear State ranks high in the comity of States especially as our health indices are concerned.”
