Supreme Court Staff threaten strike over unpaid allowance

The Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria, Supreme Court Chapter has said it will commence an indefinite strike from 2nd November if their 40% peculiar allowance is not paid.

This was made known recently in a media statement signed by the Public Relations Officer Josun, Supreme Court Chapter, Peter John.

The statement reads, “This is to notify all Staff of the Supreme Court Chapter that if by the end of 31st October, 2023, the 40% peculiar allowance has not been paid to all the Staff, you are thereby all instructed by Josun, Supreme Court Chapter to remain in your respective homes starting from 2nd November, 2023 signalling the commencement of the Chapter’s indefinite strike.

“Please, all the Staff should cooperate and adhere to this instruction until further notice.” The statement added.
