As part of measures to cushion the current effects of the fuel subsidy removal on workers, the Rector of the Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti, Dr Temitope Alake has approved the release of a bus to convey workers to and fro at a very affordable rate.
The Bus will operate between 7.30 and 9.00am in the morning and 4:00pm to 6:00pm in the evening.
Roundoffnews gathered that the bus will park in front of the St Patrick’s Primary School, after the poly bus stop, Ado Ekiti.
Reacting to this development, the leadership of the Senior Staff Association of Nigeria Polytechnics, Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti chapter, commended the Rector describing his action as an affirmation that he cares for the welfare of workers.
In a statement in Ado-Ekiti, SSANIP Chairman, Comrade Sunday Akomolafe noted that the bus was approved following a negotiation by the association with the management of the institution.
Comrade Akomolafe promised the readiness of the association to continue to agitate for the welfare of members without compromise.
He urged members to take advantage of the shuttle bus pending further palliative measures that would be introduced by management and government.
