SAFEGUARD YOUR HERITAGE, SAY NO TO DESTRUCTION DURING PROTEST — AMB. ADEMILOYE MOSES URGES YOUTHS

The National Coordinator, Nigerian Youth for Democracy who doubles as the Senior Special Assistant, Inter-Agency Coordination to the Governor, Ekiti State, Amb. Moses Ademiloye has called on Nigerians particularly youths to Safeguard the Lord Heritage by not destroying private and public facilities during the planned protest.

In a statement made available to newsmen in Ado Ekiti, Amb. Moses Ademiloye noted that while protests can serve as a powerful tool for voicing discontent, it is crucial to consider the potential repercussions that such actions may have on collective heritage and future.

He said:”Our inheritance as Nigerian youth encompasses a rich tapestry of cultural, historical, and economic assets. From our diverse cultures and traditions to the natural resources and infrastructural developments, these are legacies that we must cherish and protect. These assets are not only a reflection of our identity but also the foundation upon which we can build a prosperous future.

“Engaging in protests, especially those that can potentially turn violent, carries significant risks such as Destruction of Property.

He said when protests devolved into riots, public and private properties often become targets and such often set back economic progress but and erase parts of collective history and achievements.

“Violent clashes between protesters and security forces can lead to injuries or even loss of lives. Every life lost is a loss to our future potential. The physical and emotional scars from such events can take years to heal, affecting families and communities deeply.

“The aftermath of destructive protests often leads to economic instability. Businesses shut down, investors withdraw, and the local economy suffers. Job losses and increased poverty levels are direct consequences that can further exacerbate the challenges we face as a nation.

“As Nigerian youth, we hold the power to shape the destiny of our nation. Let us exercise this power wisely and responsibly. By safeguarding our heritage and choosing constructive paths to effect change, we can ensure that our actions today lay the groundwork for a prosperous and united Nigeria tomorrow he concluded.
