The first administrative officer robot in South Korea was declared dead by the city council after it fell down some steps.

Local media expressed sadness over the nation’s first robot suicide.

The Gumi City Council in South Korea declared that the robot was discovered to be unresponsive following its apparent fall last week down a two-meter (six-and-a-half-foot) stairway.

Before the incident, witnesses claimed to have seen the robot officer “circling in one spot as if something was there.” However, the precise reason for the collapse is still being looked into, a city council spokesman told AFP.

The official stated that the robot had “helped with daily document deliveries, city promotion, and delivered information” to locals.

“Pieces have been collected and will be analysed by the company. It was officially a part of the city hall, one of us,” another official said. “It worked diligently.” the official said.

Local media headlines questioned the apparent robot suicide, posing queries such as “Was work too hard” for the robot or “Why did the diligent civil officer do it?”
