ROUNDOFFNEWS UNCOVERS PLAN TO COVER UP RAPE CASE IN EKITI

There are indications that some influential persons and authorities are making attempts to manipulate the alleged rape of a teenage girl in Ado Ekiti as against the existing law and principles of the state.

The case in question involves a
56 year old man, (name withheld) who allegedly raped a 14years old girl on several occasions at Shasha Market area of Ado Ekiti, the state capital.

Investigation by Roundoffnews.com reporter shows that the case was  reported to the office of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, NSCDC Ekiti State Command on the 9th of January, 2024.

However, two week after the case was reported, the suspect was said to have been granted bail which is against the law of the state.

As at the time of this report, the matter was never reported to the Ministry of Justice neither was the case charged to court as gathered by our reporter.

This suspicious development was not unconnected with the intervention of some wealthy personalities and relatives of the suspect who have continued to use their influence to foot drag the matter so as to deny the innocent girl justice.

When contacted, the Spokesman for the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, Ekiti State Command, Tolu Afolabi said the command was still investigating the matter but concerned persons disagreed saying unnecessary delay in the matter is dangerous.

It is expected that the concerned authorities will prevail on the authorities of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps to follow the due principles of handling rape cases in the state and prosecute the alleged offender.
