Residents cry out as petrol sells between #680-700 per litre in Ekiti

…say petroleum task force ineffective and should be queried

Residents of Ekiti State, especially consumers of Premium Motor Spirit, known as petroleum have cried out over the arbitrary increase in the price of the commodity.
As at the time of this report, the product sells between Six Hundred and Eighty Naira and Seven Hundred Naira a situation the consumers described as killing.
Some petrol marketers were not also selling thus causing long queues in few places where the product is available and giving them the opportunity to extort consumers.
Those who spoke with our correspondent affirmed that the situation was peculiar to Ekiti because information from other states shows that the product sells between #580-630.
They noted that the newly appointed Chairman, Petroleum Product Regulation and Consumer Protection Agency in Ekiti State, Hon. Arinka Odunayo and the petroleum task force team were ineffective as they have failed to act appropriately to address the situation.

They called on Governor Oyebanji to put the task force on their toes to do the needful.

When contacted on telephone, Chairman, Petroleum Product Regulation and Consumer Protection Agency in Ekiti State, Hon. Arinka Odunayo was unable to provide necessary information and way out of the situation.
