…unveils book on divorce, donates writing materials to pupils
It was an atmosphere of joy in Afao, Ikere Ekiti as loved ones from all works of life gathered to celebrate a retired teacher and USA Based Mental Health Counselor,
Mrs Ayo Ajewole on the occasion of her sixtieth birthday.
The celebration afforded friends and families the opportunity to share testimonies about the impacts the celebrant had made in their respective lives.
During a special mass to commemorate the birthday, held at St Paul’s Catholic Church Afao, Ikere-Ekiti, Bishop of the Ekiti Catholic Diocese, The Most Reverend Felix Ajakaye rejoiced with the celebrant for witnessing her sixtieth birthday in good health and abundance.
Bishop Ajakaye stressed the need for christians to always appreciate the blessings of God and never be discouraged by the current economic hardship.
The cleric described Mrs. Ayo Ajewole as a woman of honour, disciplinarian, humble and very committed to the service of God, hence he prayed God to grant her grace to celebrate many more years.
Dignitaries on the occasion including, former Government House Chaplain, Pastor Seyi Olusola, Engineer, Olorunfemi Dare, an academic, Professor Dupe Osalusi, Engr. Olu Ayodele, Prof. Tola Ayodele, Prof. Clement Ayodele, Prof. Bisi Ayodele, Chief Mrs Yemisi Arogundade,
Bishop Folarin Ogunmodede, the Bishop of African Church, Ekiti diocese, spoke glowingly of the celebrant, describing her as a “reckless” giver, thoughtful and kind.
Also, the siblings of the celebrant, including, Reverend Ayodele Victor Sunday, Engr. Ayodele Oluwasegun and Engineer Ayodele Olu described Mrs Ajewole as a blessing to their family.
in her address of welcome, the celebrant, Mrs Ayo Ajewole thanked God for the journey so far and appreciated friends, families and wellwishers for celebrating her.
Highlight of the occasion was the launch of a book authored by the celebrant, Mrs Ajewole and titled Messy Separation, which focuses on tips to process, grow and heal after gut wrenching divorce.
Meanwhile, the celebrant had on Friday donated writing materials to some pupils of primary schools in Ikere Ekiti on behalf of her foundation, Anuoluwatobi.
The benefiting schools are St Mark’s Primary School, LA primary School, St John’s Primary School and St Paul’s Primary School all in Afao, Ikere, Ekiti.
Speaking during the distribution of the materials, the convener, Mrs Ajewole said the gesture was to support and motivate young girls to fulfil purpose, assist the youth and empower them for self development.
She added that the foundation also caters for single mothers in distress and vulnerable children.
“I donated the books as part of my efforts to give back to the society and to complement government’s efforts to develop our education sector.
“I promise to continue to do more so that we can have a better society.
“My mass is to appreciate God for all He had done for me and my family.
