The Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Ekiti State Council 2024 Press Week has kick started officially with a press conference.
The Chairman Planning Committee, Rotimi Feyishina, who spoke at the press conference, outlined the activities as a means of reaching the public during the celebration.
Monday 7th: Press Conference: Time:1pm, Venue:NUJ Centre
Tuesday 8th: Massive Health intervention/Free Medical check-up. Time: 8am: Venue: NUJ Centre
Wednesday, 9th: Iyan Day- Time 2pm.Venue: NUJ Centre
Thursday, 10th: indoor game. Time: 8am
Friday, 11th: Jumat Service 1pm , Venue: Ansu-ur-deen Mosque,
Novelty match, Venue:Oluyemi kayode Stadium.Time: 4pm
Saturday, 12th: Lecture by D.I.G Sylvester Alabi Abiodun, at G-Bos Hotel and event centre beside Sterling Bank, Ado Ekiti. Time: 10am
Annual award, dinner and best journalists in different categories. Venue: G-Bos Hotel and event centre beside Sterling Bank, Ado Ekiti. Time:5pm.
Sunday, 13th: Thanksgiving service. Venue: Christ way church, opposite school of Nursing, Ado Ekiti.
Time 9am
The Ekiti NUJ Chairman, Comrade Kayode Babatuyi said the reason for the Press Week is to appreciate God for a successful year without casualties.
In his words: “While everyone runs out from a burning scene, only journalists runs towards the fire to see to the end of it.”
He also implored all Journalists to participate in the Press Week and celebrate themselves too.
