PRAY FOR PRESIDENT TINUBU…ANGLICAN WOMEN URGE NIGERIANS

By Bayo Famoroti

The President of Women Guild of Ekiti Diocese (Anglican Communion), Mrs. Abimbola Ajayi, has urged Nigerians to pray for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to succeed in his plans to return Nigeria to the path of prosperity.

She said that as good citizens, it is the duty of Nigerians to support those in the position of authority in their efforts to return the country to the glorious era.

Mrs. Ajayi, who is the wife of the Lord Bishop of Ekiti Diocese gave the advice in her 2023 Women Guild Charge with the theme: Make a difference (Jude 1:22)

She said as God helped King Cyrus in Isaiah 45:1, He can also help our president, with the prayers of the people, pointing out that it is compulsory that citizen should not condemn or disparage our leaders, rather, we should advice them on how to perform better for the benefit of the nation.

She however reminded leaders not to forget to fulfill their promises to the people, particularly what will assuage the suffering of the populace because people rely on them to make things better.

The Women Guild President recalled that when Tinubu took over the mantle of governance, he promised to ensure impartiality in the use of our law, freeing the country brigandage and trouble makers, ensure the revival of economy of the country, give the woman a pride of place, empower youths and put a stop to corruption in the system.

“Our prayer to God is that the power to make our President to fulfill his promises will come upon him from heaven because the power of man can do nothing”, she said.

She also called for prayers to end banditary, kidnapping, killings and rituals.

On the theme of the conference, Mrs. Ajayi admonished the people to be different from the world, pointing out that the book of Jude is full of calls to confront false teachers and promoters of vices in the society and that God is calling his people to rise up and confront the evil doers.
