The national leadership of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Polytechnics, SSANIP, has commended Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, for increasing the salaries of polytechnic workers in the State by 25/35 percent.
This is contained in a letter addressed to the governor and signed by the National Secretary of SSANIP, Comrade Nura Shehu Gaya.
The letter was personally delivered to the office of the Governor by the State Executives of SSANIP including; Com. Sunday Akomolafe, State Chairman; Com. Victor Oke, Secretary; Com. Seun Fabunmi, Chairman, Ekiti State Polytechnic; and Com. Oladele Abayomi, Treasurer, Federal Polytechnic Ado-Ekiti Branch.
According to the statement, the increment will enhance motivation and productivity in the state-owned technical and vocational tertiary institutions including; Ekiti State Polytechnic, Isan Ekiti and College of Health Science and Technology, Ijero Ekiti.
The association went further to assure the governor of their continued support and cooperation towards realizing his developmental agenda for the State.
The letter reads: “This timely implementation underscores your commitment to the well-being, professional development, and welfare of Tertiary Education workers across the state.
“By prioritizing the needs of our members, your administration has not only demonstrated a deep understanding of the importance of higher Education to the development of the State but has also taken a commendable step towards ensuring better standards of living for those dedicated to the Education Sector.
“The salary increment is a significant relief to our members, especially during these challenging economic times. It will undoubtedly enhance their motivation and productivity, thus further contributing to the advancement of Technical and Vocational Education in Ekiti State.
“We recognize that this decision reflects your administration’s vision for a progressive Ekiti State, and we commend you for recognizing the vital role that Education play in developing the skilled manpower necessary for the State’s Socio-Economic growth.
“Your Excellency, we, the members of SSANIP, assure you of our continued support an cooperation as you work towards realizing your developmental agenda for Ekiti State.”
