Luck ran out on a suspect identified as Oloniluyi Kolade, who was arrested by officers of Ekiti State Police Command on Monday for attempting to charm and defraud a woman at one of the Commercial Banks in Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital.
It was gathered that the victim, simply identified as Oluwajumoke went to an Automated Teller Machine (ATM) located at Oke Ori-Omi, Ado-Ekiti, around 5pm to make withdrawal.

Speaking with Journalists, Oluwajumoke claimed that the suspect started mounting pressure on her to insert her card after she had complained that she couldn’t read the inscription on the screen properly due to its tiny display.
She noted that all of a sudden, the suspect highjacked he machine from her and started operating it while her card was still inside the ATM.
In her words, “I got to the ATM point to withdraw, after that, I was trying to follow the prompt on the ATM screen and I noticed someone behind me.
“He just came and inserted his hands in his pockets to take out the Cobra Head. I started looking at him, I checked my bag and my phone to check if they were not missing.
“He told me to put my card inside the ATM, telling me the ATM will work after I have complained that I couldn’t read the command displayed on the screen very well.
“He was rushing me to insert my ATM card but I insisted on not listening to him. Immediately, he started pressing some things on the buttons of the ATM while my ATM was still inside. I challenged him, he said he also wanted to withdraw money.
“I canceled my withdrawal process and still, he started pressing the buttons again. One man also came, I signaled to the man not to insert his card but he kept on listening to the guy, he didn’t listen to me.
“He (suspect) claimed to check whether the ATM was dispensing cash or not. He kept on telling the man that it was dispensing, and he told the man to insert the card again and the man still listened to him.
“I asked about his own ATM card but he said the ATM has swallowed it. It was that moment it was dawn on the other man and he realised he was under a force. Then, I went to report to the Officers guarding the ATM stand.”
However, during a thorough interrogation with the suspect, he claimed to work with one Alhaji Yinusa Bakare and had come from Igbimo-Ekiti to Ado-Ekiti that day to check whether the ATM was dispensing cash or not.
