The police on Monday arraigned two men in an Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ court over alleged attempted murder of an aide to Governor Biodun Oyebanji.
The accused persons are, Egunlae Ademola, 52, and Oluwafemi Ajayi, 65.
The accused persons, whose house addresses were not provided, are being tried on charges of conspiracy, threatening violence with offensive weapon and attempt to murder one Hon. Talabi Odunayo Arinka.
The police prosecutor, Inspector Akinwale Oriyomi, told the court that the accused committed the offence on 22nd of December, 2024 at about 8:30pm.
He informed the court that there is probable cause to order the remand of Egunlae Ademola and Oluwafemi Ajayi in correctional custody, who are reasonably suspected to have committed the aforementioned offences.
According to him, the offences contravened sections 421, 46 and 241 (a) & (b) of the Criminal Law Ekiti State 2021.
The Chief Magistrate, Abayomi Adeosun, granted the accused bail in the sum of N250, 000 with one surety each in like sum.
He adjourned the case until February 14th 2025, for hearing.
