PETROL: Ekiti Govt Warns Fuel Marketers Against Hoarding, Price Hike

Ekiti State Government has warned fuel marketers against deliberately shutting down filling stations to create artificial fuel scarcity.

Chairman Ekiti state Petroleum Products Regulation And Consumer Protection Agency, Mr. Talabi Odunayo stated that some marketers are allegedly attempting to disrupt economic activities by refusing to sell fuel despite having products in stock.

Such actions could trigger panic buying and disrupt economic activities across the state, Odunayo said.

He also warned against unnecessary price hikes, stating that any filling station hoarding products or increasing prices would be regarded as an economic saboteur and enemy of good governance.
