…seeks improvement in women representation
A PDP chieftain in Ekiti State, Hon Mrs Ebiesuwa Cecilia has congratulated those who made the list of the caretaker committee of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP in Ekiti state.
Hon Mrs Cecilia had however disagreed earlier with the very poor representation of women in the committee which had two women out of nineteen members.
In a statement in Ado Ekiti, the politician who commended the inclusion of additional two women however noted that having four women in a twenty one member committee is still far from fairness and justice.
Hon Mrs Cecilia explained that even if the thirty five percent affirmative action would not be adhered to in the formation of the PDP caretaker committee this time around, the women folks should be well represented and by those who have what it takes to carry the cross, speak out and speak up for women in the midst of men.
While praying for divine wisdom and direction for members already listed among the committee, Mrs Cecilia urged leaders of the party from the local to national levels to look into issues bothering on women in order to position the party for improved relevance and victory especially in Ekiti state.
