…as NLC chairman advocates improved welfare for workers
The Police Community Relations Committee, (PCRC), Ekiti State has bestowed an award of excellence on the Chairman, Nigeria Labour Congress, Ekiti State, Comrade Kolapo Joshua Olatunde.
The award was presented to him in Ado Ekiti along other outstanding people on Saturday during the 2022 Ekiti PCRC programme tagged: “Let’s come together to safeguard our state”
Presenting the award to the number one worker in Ekiti State, the PCRC chairman, Pastor Joshua Makinde explained that he was selected for the honour due to his passion and commitment to workers’ welfare.
Pastor Makinde noted that commitment of Comrade Kolapo to the needs of workers is second to non and commendable, urging him not to derail in such direction.
Reacting, Chairman of NLC in Ekiti State, Comrade Olatunde expressed happiness over the recognition, stating that it is a win for him and entire workers in Ekiti State
“I was glad for been counted worthy to be given this award, I never knew people have been noticing how concerned I am to workers welfare and security issues in the state.
” I thank God that these efforts are being celebrated today”
On security, Comrade Olatunde said that everyone has a role to play by reporting strange happening in their communities to the security agents for necessary action.
While thanking Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji for his unflinching support in ensuring the State is secured, he called on the number one citizen of the state to look into the welfare of workers by priotising their needs
The NLC Chairman said the governor had started well by defraying some of the salary arrears of local government workers, he appealed to him not to relent but in addition extend such to all, pensioners inclusive.
He therefore called on the entire workers in Ekiti State to support present administration to achieve success.
