Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, Senate Leader, Opeyemi Bamidele are among eminent personalities expected to grace the launching of the 500 million and foundation laying ceremony of the Secretariat of Association of Ekiti Traditional Chieftancy Title Holders.
The association made the disclosure on Wednesday during a press conference in Ado-Ekiti ahead of the launching and laying of foundation of Ule Ujoye-Ekiti billed for 19th April, 2025 along Ado-Ikere road.
According to the association’s Chairman, High Chief Oluwole Ogunsakin, Asolo of Ikole, the state governor had promised during the campaigns to assist them in erecting the building noting that the need for a secretariat necessitated the drive by its members.
The Chairman equally disclosed that they have sought the support of traditional rulers including the Ooni of Ife, Olujudo of Ido-Ekiti, Ewi of Ado-Ekiti, who happens to be their Grand Patron while urging members of the public to join hands with the association to make the event worthwhile.

He went further to state that the role of traditional chieftaincy title holders cannot be overemphasized adding that they work with the Obas for the growth and development of their communities.
“The association has been in existence for over 30 years and we have not been opportuned to have our own building. Our association comprises male and female chiefs. It’s not a pressure institution and we work together with the Kabiyesi for the advancement of the state.
“We have so many chiefs but there is difference between Traditional Chieftancy Title Holders. These are the original Chiefs that work with the kabiyesi in all the communities for the progress, unity and maintenance of culture and traditions.”
In the same vein, Chairman of the Planning Committee, High Chief Gbenga Agbona said that the project will go a long way to generate revenue for the association.
He equally re-emphasized the roles of the traditional chieftancy title holders saying that the numerical strength of the association will paved the way for more developments in partnership with the traditional rulers.
“We believe that having a hall like that will generate revenue to help some of our members who will be in distress and need our support. There is no community that has less than 100 chiefs.
“Our numerical strength is something that I believe that if we come together, aside from social networking, we have a role to play in complementing what our kabiyesi’s are doing.”
The Senate Leader is expected to be the Chairman of the occasion while his colleagues in the Senate, Yemi Adaramodu and Cyril Fasuyi will be the Chief Launchers. Also, the House of Representatives members are the co-launchers.
The press conference equally had in attendance other executives and members of the association including; High Chief Simon Esan, PRO and Odofinyin of Iyin-Ekiti, High Chief Jide Aworinde, Secretary Planning Committee, High Chief Adeyinka Adelabu, Asaba of Ire, High Chief Olufemi Ajibola and High Chief Abegunde Awoleye.
